Since joining Harkness Henry, Toby has been engaged in large scale litigation in the High Court, Court of Appeal and Supreme Court, as well as being involved in a range of commercial work.  Areas in which Toby holds a particular expertise include contract, insolvency, land, construction and credit law.

Toby worked at Russell McVeagh in Auckland before moving to LeeSalmonLong, a specialist commercial/litigation firm.  Toby travelled to the United Kingdom and worked for Barclays Bank before moving to the enforcement arm of the Financial Services Authority, the body that regulates all financial institutions in the United Kingdom.

Toby holds arts and law degrees from Otago University, and is a current committee member of the Waikato/Bay of Plenty branch of the New Zealand Law Society.
