Jarrod specialises in class 4 gambling issues.  Jarrod has a New Zealand-wide practice and currently acts for over a quarter of all class 4 societies, which mainly distribute funds to the community.  Jarrod is the author of the only publication on class 4 gambling, the New Zealand Gambling Law Guide.

Jarrod has made submissions to both the Department of Internal Affairs and the Government on gaming regulations and policies, and has been actively involved in compliance issues that have arisen under the Gambling Act 2003.

Jarrod travels throughout New Zealand to attend local Council gambling venue policy hearings.  He has been responsible for a number of positive changes to various gambling venue policies.

Jarrod has argued many successful Gambling Commission appeals and is well known within the industry and by the Department’s staff.

Jarrod also specialises in insolvency law and commercial litigation.  Jarrod graduated with honours in 1995.  After graduating Jarrod spent 5½ years in general practice before joining Harkness Henry in 2001.
