Paul is Harkness Henry’s senior commercial partner, and is one of the leading commercial lawyers in Hamilton.  Paul has an extensive client base including a number of prominent national and local companies and businesses.  His specialist areas are commercial and company law, contract negotiations, mergers, acquisitions and sales, commercial arbitrations and trusts.  As a sign of the respect in which Paul is held, both within the legal profession and externally, he is regularly asked to act as arbitrator in relation to commercial disputes.  Every year, Paul is retained to advise on many of the largest transactions happening in the region, be they mergers, acquisitions or other commercial transactions.

Paul graduated from Canterbury University in 1972 with an honours degree in law.  He joined Harkness Henry in 1973, and was admitted as a partner in 1974, having received a rare High Court approval to commence practice as a partner before he had completed the normal 3 year post qualification experience.
