Partner, Employment & Resource Management

Simon is the Managing Partner and also leads the specialist employment and resource management law team.  

He assists clients with strategic advice, the preparation of employment agreements and other workplace documentation, managing employment relationship issues and the provision of advice on managing potential problems including disciplinary action and union related industrial activity.  Simon also has extensive involvement with employment related institutions requiring frequent appearances at mediations, investigation meetings before the Employment Relations Authority and appeals before the Employment Court.

Simon’s involvement with resource management dates back to the passing of the Resource Management Act 1991.  Since that time he has been involved in a wide range of resource management issues including projects such as marinas, roading developments, supermarket complexes and quarries.  This involvement has included general advice in relation to such projects, appearances before Local Authorities seeking consents, appearances before the Environment Court on appeals and the High Court in judicial review proceedings.  Simon also periodically advises Local Authorities in relation to specific issues and projects.
